Ha yes I saw those two tandems as well - I have a saved search for resilion cantilevers to help me with my own project. Would go for the Russ if I didn't already have a Grubb to restore.

I love those short wheelbase tandems. You'd probably need to be 6' 5" to stoke that CB one though! HUGE
-
• #755
& the stoker will need a solidly constituted rear end (or at least a sprung saddle)!

Anyone have any idea what this NOS "pre-war" frame is ? looks like gaspipe and too big for me, but it must have a good story and/or be of interest to someone wanting to build a period piece.

This and other nice bits shall be on its way soon

@falconvitesse is this same model as yours?
It's from the 1950. Frame number 50152 -

It'll be lots of work, but for £160 + shipping from Wales, I think it's an amazing deal:
It's a Gillott spear point track frame and forks from 1950, frame number 50152, the 50 denotes the year. It's almost certainly Reynolds 531 (Gillott wouldn't have used anything else) and structurally excellent with no dents or cracks. The lugs are Gillotts own spearpoint design and unique to them. It needs a complete repaint as someone has painted it in a hideous blue; I think originally it was white and red.
It comes with an array of period correct components:
The original headset
A lugged underslung stem
Stratalite pelissier handlebar
Gb coureur brake lever
Gb coureur brakes (you only need the front one)
A very tatty brooks professional saddle.
A magnificent and rare brooks b17 sprinter saddle in really excellent condition like it's never been used.
Three crank sets:
Williams
BSA
Durax (my favourite and looks great on the bike)
A Chater Lea chain ring.
4 wheels 3 of which need work. The nicest is a sturmey archer front hub and wheel in great shape. The rest all have era appropriate British hub company hubs that need love -

Hang on. Wrong thread.

Love the Gillott by the way!

Vey Jealous. Again

This time I was very lucky. But, as said, there's shit load of work to clean up everything.

• #773
Very nice Aniello, how can you not love a Gillott Spearpoint?
And seems it comes with a nice collection of parts as well! Durax, BSA chainset - some BHC hubbed wheels (maybe Airlites or Solites), oh and an excellent B17 Sprinter...

Yeah bit of luck, some parts will go on the Holdsworth as well

I'll look up at the picture again.
Guy will ship it on Tue, no time to bring it over. Had I a car, I'd show it to you :/
That Russ tandem...
