Just saw the results. Fuck me.

Seemed to lack tempo and width which is common and heart was in mouth when defoe almost smashed one in. Oddly had a SSN update saying defoe had equalised which freaked me out a bit. Also enjoyed the view from the cheap seats but prefer the east end for away atmosphere and ease of tube access.

My mate's son plays for Falkirk, after several months out, this on his return aka wonder strike.. goal E

Felt like we needed one of the centre backs to bring the ball across the halfway line and commit the Bournemouth midfield. Toby and Davinson had so much time on the ball and did so little with it.
Think we need to be more aggressive at home, if a team is going to defend deep, let's get at them, know squad rotation is a little bit in effect, but let's use the players we have in atracke to try and get that first goal in the first half an hour and open the game up where we can hit them on the counter, as they look for the equaliser.. rather than patiently probing, not enough precision from us.
That being said only what, four points off top, and Chelsea lost to palace, and Arsenal lost to Watford so not sure all bad.. -

Fuck me, has someone hacked Corny's account?
-

I thought Son was ineffectual in the first half down the left and you're right there wasn't a single diagonal long Toby pass down to the wing. The the whole team should of been put on quick two touch because it was so easy but instead it was slow and deck chairs on the beach.
Without Kante Chelsea are undoubtedly weaker but at least they have Tammy Abraham on 4 Premier league goals now.
Hart does a clear pen but his reputation and it being away at burnley means he gets away with it. Then he has a go at the 4 premier league game newbie for diving. Sucm bag.

Nice to see Palace get off the mark. Mourinhos spoiling tactics worked again.
City have it wrapped up by November. -

Not the best news to wake up to but I had a funny feeling about this game... Everyone talking it up as an easy three points when we're missing Kante and Morata against one of our traditional bogey teams always gets my alarm bells going...
Oh well, onwards and hopefully upwards...

I was in the end right above the away fans (also £30 seat) with a similar view. Atmosphere was decent but not amazing. Not helped by a game where it was rare to see any outfield players in the Tottenham half!

71k, make of that what you will!

71k is a great crowd.
Over 20% of the seats empty is a bit shit though. Maybe the £30 seats could be made even cheaper to get them filled?
I'd probably go if it was £15.
In Berlin I went to the Olympiastadion to see Hertha play Leverkusen when Leverkusen were top. I just rocked up and paid €11.
Probably isn't the best for attracting real, atmosphere-creating fans, but then Chelsea are still doing alright with a stadium full of half and half scarves and Chinese tourists.

I missed the first five mins so was spending most of the first half trying to figure out who was playing where. I thought that son was playing left wing back at first, as he wasn't doing much going forward.
Really hope nkoudou is alright, all sissoko had to do was play the ball early as we had a four on one, and he held it, and held it and then played a pass which was too heavy and inviting begovic to clean out nkoudou. Awful decision making.
Glad lamela and rose are close to being back to fitness, we need them to add some pace and directness to our attack. Hoping they can lift the team with their return. Also interested whether we press more when lamela is selected as when he was last fit he was the one who seemed to always initiate the press from the front, and with our move to three at the back we've moved away from compressing the field, and relied on the composure of our centre backs to sort stuff out.. -

I’m pretty sure you could buy tickets at the stadium (officially) but yeah £30 is a bit steep for a casual.
-
• #138815
Hah I was trying to work out why harry winks was playing left back (and not wearing black boots) at one point.
That four on one was annoying and looked a nailed on penalty from our end. -
• #138816
Parallel views just the pitch looks worse from west end... I suppose with only one goal being scored the west end was the best yesterday. The crowd was announced as 73,502 . is that bigger than old trafford..
Ahh Lamela, yeah I'm guessing he'll be starting against the spammers a week on wed. I think we have missed his dribble and slide rule through balls against parked busses. Son was at LWB I think, we started like that and reverted to it in 1st half whenever we didn't have the ball. In between he played as an inside left hence our lack of width against a back five. Verts is never going to risk bombing past sonny down the left wing at 0-0.
Sissoko's direct running at tired legs should of made the game safe but sloppy passes instead of simple ones might of cost us. Certainly cost poor GKN

Leicester sack Shakespeare
At least their board have some bollocks unlike our useless set of cunts
-
• #138820
He's on a pittance in comparison to Koeman, easy enough to take the hit on him. Pretty sure your board don't want to be paying out for Martinez and Koeman and whoever comes in after him, especially as (if you're anything to go by) the majority of Everton fans won't be asking for a manager that comes cheap..
-
• #138821
I don't care who comes in as long as they know how to get 11 players to play football, something Koeman is failing at miserably
Unsworth would be the obvious interim appointment as he's still pissing the U23 team. Beat City 3-0 the other day

The sheriff going off piste with the team selection, bt sport have us lined up as a 451 aurier and Sanchez as the full backs and then a midfield of dier and winks as the holders and llorente, eriksen and sissoko in the attack behind Kane.
Not sure if adventurous or foolhardy, but hoping it's a good game. Bench is pretty young and apart from Son/Rose not many game changers there...
Could get messy in a hurry.. -
• #138823
5 Live have just said it's Vertonghen at left wing back, then Dier, Sanches and Alderweireld at CB. Wtf.
-
• #138824
Yeah we're playing winks and sissoko as the holders and verts and aurier as wingbacks, and a back three of dier sanchez and Toby..
Two up top in llorente and Kane.
We're sitting deep in defense and looking to spring on the counter but we haven't been precise enough. Eriksen looks a bit out of sorts and winks is looking a bit over awed.
But we're a goal up, lucky deflection and the games opened up, lots of space to run into in madrids defence...
Hoping we haven't poked the bear and woken it and then have to suffer a mauling... -

Just found a stream in time to see that abysmal defending by Aurier. What was he thinking!?
I gave away a shit penalty a couple of weeks ago and dumped my team in it, but Aurier makes me look composed and intelligent.
Wow, looks like there are more empty seats than filled ones.
I suppose it was Bournemouth.
Was this just after half time or what?
