• can't believe this.. BB7s with some Jagwire pro are so close to hydraulic performance to me. Really makes me wonder what we are doing differently, our experiences couldn't be this far apart..

    Standard MTB BB7 with suitable levers: great brakes.

    Road BB7's with SRAM levers: totally useless.

    about a month and a half ago I bought 2 Rose cross bikes with ultegra (6800) and CX77s that really wouldn't stop.. switched cables, pads, rotors and eventually swapped around with the Awol and the bikes had all the stopping power they needed with BB7s on them.

  • Like I said, some model's calipers doesn't allow pads to sit straight whether other does.

    Never tried with Shimano levers, with SRAM performance was dire - and I tried all of the usual suggestions, and some more unusual ones such as brake force multiplying cams etc.
