Somebody should explain to him that his model is only correct for a stationary earth. In practice, the rotation of the earth causes the water to fling up the sides, like it does when you stir your tea too vigorously. The model does explain why the sea ice is at the top and why any floes which become detached from the Antarctic start floating north :)
