I'd take the relative lightness of the 2spd over the gears of a 3/6, just depends how much cycling you'll be doing, I've ridden mine from white city to stockwell, about 6 miles without issue, and changing gear..

+1 - when I use mine it's 11 miles each way, but have done plenty of longer rides on it. My 2 speed is the -7% ratio so pretty spinny, but I really don't care that my max speed is a bit low - a brompton is for pootling, not racing IMO.

i need to buy a Brompton this weekend, my commute is absolutely killing me, where do i get one from. cheapest ideas or specs first please. 2 speed is fine. how low can i go?!
