If it's just a bit of surface rust, waxoyl or similar should sort it - use a hairdryer to warm the frame tubes and make sure it gets to the extremities. Bob Jackson recommend Dinitrol ML, which comes in an aerosol; you can get an extension hose which makes it easy to get into all the nooks and crannies. Both Waxoyl and Dinitrol seem popular with Land-Rover enthusiasts, so they are both presumably fairly tenacious.

Waxoyl is shite, aweful to clean off and no corrossion resistance. Also doesn't cling and attracts dirt. Dinitrol is better.
If using waxoyle is your thing look at Shell Ensis fluid, it comes in 25l tubs but look at the specs.
Look at the bilt hambert website that stuff is the current best.
Or cold glavanizing paint. Cheap and works.
Yeah I've seen this. I was just wondering since I'm doing some work on a frame soon but I'm aware things are looking a little orange on the inside already so I need to sort it out before preventing more.
Is acid stripping likely to actually remove any rust?
