  • I am also disappointed that the likes of Angelina Jolie, Paltrow etc haven't called him out before now. Surely they were secure and powerful enough to make the allegations rather than waiting for others to blow the first whistle.

That's a bit victim-blaming. Weinstein wasn't the only guy doing this, won't be the only creep they've had to fend of carefully in their careers, it's a thing at all levels of the industry. Victims risk law suits and public ridicule and even the most famous actresses have less secure careers than their male counterparts.

  • Certainly not victim blaming - I have the utmost sympathy with all who have experienced it and I'm sure it is / has been pretty endemic in that industry.
There are those like Jennifer Lawrence who have been vocal about pay disparity with the accompanying risk to their career but who are in a secure enough position to take it on. Jolie and Brad Pitt were probably the most high profile couple in Hollywood for years, have campaigned on a number of issues and could have used their position to bring this out earlier. But I understand the reasons why not and it's obviously a deeply personal choice - hopefully it'll flush out any others who've been doing the same now it is in the open.
