The X100F shares the same sensor as the X Pro-2, a 24.30 Megapixel APS-C (23.6mm x 15.6mm).
The (fixed) lens is an F2, and effective focal length is 35mm - it's bigger than an iPhone but it's far from a big camera, it's my walking around/might see something interesting camera.
When cycling the iPhone is unbeatable though I reckon (other phones are available) as it's so small, can be used one-handed, etc etc.

Nikon D850 looks like a beast. 45.7 mp, 7fps or 9 fps with a battery grip :O
Biggest viewfinder of any FX camera, 4k @ 30/24 fps, 1080p 120 fps, silent shooting, focus peaking... Literally everything. All the things.

Canon has announced an 85mm 1.4 with stabilisation...

I really liked my D700. I wouldn't mind replacing it one day so I just googleshopped a D850. Holy smokes it's not cheap.

Has anyone made a light box? There's a few guides on YouTube to go on just wondering if anyone has any advice

I've got an Olympus em5 mk1 for sale with The Olympus 14-42mm lens. Has barely been used as I bought a Ricoh gr about a year after getting The em5
Also got the Olympus 35mm equivilant and the 28mm equivilant that could be done a deal on or sold separately

Anyone want a 17-55 2.8 Nikon DX zoom? With a Canon sharp cut UV filter worth about 20 quid. The lens is on eBay for 400-500, I'll do 350 for the sake of not having to do eBay. I have the box and everything, not that that helps you take better pictures.

So I've been shooting on a Canon 50mm F1.8 Lens.....borrowed from a friend. Getting to the
point where it's time to buy my own....Is the F1.4 worth the extra? Any other recommendation for fixed lens to go on a Canon?
Its mainly for cycling photography and coffee/portraits.

the 50 1.8 is an amazing lens for the price. I upgraded to the 1.4, I don't recall seeming any huge leap in image quality however the build quality of the lens is much better, feels much more rugged and durable.
-
• #512
What're you using that for?
-
• #513
So far not much. I thought I'd use it to backlight semi transparent objects, like a leaf for example.
-
• #514
Ok thanks.....if the image quality is pretty similar I might stick with the 1.8 then.....
Any other lens you've particularly loved? In the budget end of the spectrum

This is kinda cool: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1940283777/expect-the-unexpected-digifilmtm-camera-by-yashicaNah its shit.
The camera doesn't actually save any images on the digiFilm (it has an SD-card slot for that) but instead ISO, color and digital filter settings are controlled by inserting a digiFilm cartridges. How's that for a gimmick?

All the disadvantages of an old film camera and none of the advantages of a modern digital one - where do I sign up?
-
• #517
There was a digital Holga.
That was rubbish too.
-
• #518
They've taken it too far, but there's a sound Idea there.
I would absolutely love a digital version of my GR1 with the same controls. Either full auto or aperture priority on a roller wheel. Fixed lens and a nice big sensor, no screen.
-
• #519
Well there is Leica M-D ;)
But yeah, I don't mind a GR1 without a display. Or just re-release the film GR!

Anyone else notice Japan Camera Hunter post the blue prints / rough sketches of a new 35mm compact camera he is working on?
Ordered 5.
-
• #521
Yeah that got me excited, I imagine it won't be cheap.
Yashica had a good opportunity, Fuji can do it IMO.
-
• #522
I would buy 3 of your GR1 rehashes ... spares to sit-on, drop, spill beer on etc :-)
-
• #523
Wonder who’s making it...
-
• #524
I would guess Ricoh as the lens looks very much like a GR1 but who knows... I'm expecting it to be around £1000 too.

I'm looking for recommendations for a camera that may not exist within my price range. I'm after a digital compact. Probably 500 quid or less, small and pocketable is a must. With either a fixed prime or if interchangeable, a decent small prime. Also must have either a viewfinder or hot shoe for an EVF because I'm not fucking using live view.
If you shoot RAW+Jpeg you always have a file that can be somewhat fixed if the image is badly exposed.
