yeah, better to trade the SRAM Force 1 to an equivalent shimano mtb I guess.

That's still messy. Can't just chuck an MTB derailleur in there. Cable pull is different. Shimano doesn't do 1:1.
Just get something like an M8000 cassette and a roadlink, get rid of FD and double and bob's your uncle.

I got an M8000 11-42t but on the tech page on Wolfteef it says not supported which is strange as the total capacity for the 105 RD 5800 GS is 37t. I guess it has to do with the derailleur messing with the spokes or something?
