I don't understand. You're foregoing a whole gear system....because you want to use a specific derailleur?

yeah, better to trade the SRAM Force 1 to an equivalent shimano mtb I guess.

That's still messy. Can't just chuck an MTB derailleur in there. Cable pull is different. Shimano doesn't do 1:1.
Just get something like an M8000 cassette and a roadlink, get rid of FD and double and bob's your uncle.
