some spoke holes still holes have swarf in them
What is the best tool to remove these? Recently picked up some LB carbon rims and they have a similar issue. Same tool / different tool for alloy vs carbon?

I have a set of Fulcrum Racing 5s and the rims seem to be approaching the end of their life. What would you do with them? Buy some nice new rims and rebuild them? Should I go for "aero" (~30mm) rims or lightweight? Or just buy a whole new wheelset off the peg? The hubs are alright but I don't think they're anything special, and I'd obviously have to get new spokes. 18 spokes in the front (so it might be a little hard to find a rim for that?) and 20 at the rear.
Say I wanted to spend under £150 and was willing to rebuild them myself. Don't do any racing and not that fast so probably just looking for a general purpose wheel, if such a thing exists.

as #TesterSays, or a Dremel-type tool with a tiny abrasive bit, or a piece of 400grit wet/dry sandpaper rolled around a matchstick?

I struggled to get my Noga-type tool to reach the inside of the spoke hole. Can you get ones with longer stems? On mine, the tool body fouls the outer hole in the rim bed.

You can get all sorts of shapes, in particular there is definitely one designed to deburr the back side of through holes, so you can deburr your spoke holes from the hub side of the rim rather than the tyre side.

I have an open pro rim that's several years old, not seen much use but has been built and stripped a few times.
I remember the last time I built it it was pretty all over the place when I started putting tension into it. It's been built for a few months now and I was thinking of selling the wheel so checked it in the wheel jig the other day and it only needed a turn or so here and there and looks pretty good now.
Now I need a 36h rim I'm thinking I could use this one but that means another strip and rebuild.
Will all this stripping and rebuilding be weakening the rim?

I may have missed it, but ive been looking for the simplest way to work out the correct spoke length. Im looking as putting a nexus 3 speed into a 20" Alex rims DA22 rim? Help 😶

Measure the ERD of your rims. If in doubt, plenty of advice on Google. Then measure the PCD and flange spacing of your hub. Again, Google is your friend if these terms mean nothing to you. Plug the numbers into a spoke length calculator. My favourite is Edd but others are available. Get spoke lengths. Buy spokes.

I will check that out. Cheers.

Get verniers if you dont already have any. Never use specs for hubs/rims you find online. Measure what you have in your hand

The velocity aileron is your other choice and kinlin XR31RTS is you need asymmetric.

A google search brought up on the first page strada wheels, The cycle clinic e.t.c for selling these rims.

Anyone identify this nipple head? Internal one from a 3t accelero 40 team, built with straight pull CXRays but can't find nipple details and googling hidden nipples isn't helping. Takes a T20 torx key and if it wasn't for the flat interface I'd just replace it with whatever.

Looking at some Selcof hubs on P-X at the weekend, Olmpico I think they were. Are these just rebranded Novatec A171/F172?
I can handle the stickers for the price if so!
