  • @Dramatic_Hammer It's okayish I think. We're in a terrace and the front and rear walls are double skin with a small cavity apparently, although i'm skeptical about that to be honest.

Sash windows can be a tad drafty but they're all new wood-framed double-glazed units and we got have shutters on the lower two floors. Blinds and curtains only on the top-two.

Got a decent new boiler and plenty of insulation in the eaves and attic. Current gas and electric costs are manageable. The one that's killing me is the water which is on a meter currently costing £90 a month. A lot of that is that I went a bit mad watering a new garden and lawn over spring and summer before I realized we were on a meter. Whoops.

  • £90 a month for water! That's crazy. I think we pay about £20 in london's famous lambeth

  • Oh shit, we're on a water meter too but I haven't had a bill yet. You're lucky on the window front, we have original single-pane sashes that are pretty rattly and probably draughty. Got quotes for 'weatherproofing' and refurbing that are at least double what we'd budgeted for improvements there.
