  • new Bladerunner was easily watchable but reinforced the reason why cinemas that serve alcohol are a bad idea.

managed 3x 660ml beers between the wait for doors to open, trailers and the first half of the film. got to point of actual bladder pain by about 1h40m. and again by about 2h25m causing me to be that guy who gets up in the middle of the film (twice!).

and as it was a curzon we were in a glorified living room so nearly impossible to slip out without disturbing everyone in the cinema.

but then the guy next to me was sat like a teenager on the tube slumped as low as possible with his arms at 90 degrees to his side, elbow poking me in the side and his wine glass in the 'shared' armrest cupholder so he monopolised its entire length and he ate his popcorn a single kernel at a time by sliding his fingers around the top of the bag for about 2 seconds each time until he found the 'right' piece which also meant his popcorn lasted 90% of the film.

the guy sat on the other side of my girlfriend by the aisle was laying across his chair on his side with his feet sticking right out into the aisle.

i fucking hate going to the cinema.
