• if you think you are capable of carrying an additional or heavier lock then something more substantial such as the Fahgetaboutit would certainly be worth considering.

if you do get the Fahgetaboutit then you might want to use the series 2 rather than the cable to secure your front wheel - as @thrasher says, the cable is useless.

it might be useful to look through the locks that work thread. there are lots of options and alternative set ups there worth considering, such as using a padlock to go on the chainring to immobilise the bike / act as an additional deterrent.

out of interest, how long will your bike be locked up outside? eg. overnight / a few hours whilst you are at work / only a few minutes whilst going into a shop.

it looks like you have space available to get the crank arms within the 'D' of the lock in your current set up. if you can manage it, it's always worth the extra effort as filling the 'D' with as much bike as possible makes it harder for someone to interfere with the lock.

  • Thanks for your reply @pizzarat appreciate it. During the day, I leave it in a secure alley at work, so no worries there.

It's mostly for when I'm out and about for a few hours. Overnight I keep it at home nice and safe :)
