I have the evo too and experience this exact same problem. I cleaned the brake as good as I could but still find the drive side does not engage at all. I've been tempted to look for another brake that could replace it but unsure as its proprietary for the frame
The only thing I have done is to upgrade my front brake and hope for the best!
Thanks free-tard, native 11sp would be ideal but if no one pops up with anything I may get in touch, I’m looking at an old Hed too. Out of interest is yours tubular or clincher?
Re P4 brake, I made the mistake of training over winter on mine and the combination of turbo sweat and road crap meant it seized up completely in Feb. Given spares are no longer available I spent about 6 hours stripping, lubing and rebuilding it. It worked well for about 6 months but now the drive side has seized again. I’ve managed to set it in such a way that the drive side is very near the rim and when the brake is applied the non-drive side pushes the wheel onto the drive side pad. Not ideal but it at least has some kind of effect.
The keys I found were having three hands when setting it up to push both pads agains the rim and tighten the cable, and then fine tuning with the little grub screws. Mine is the evo model where the brake is meant to be marginally better.
