  • Word of advice requested from those early vbiewers of BR2049.
    mespilus jr. is 17.
BladeRunner is one of those films, Alien, Apocalypse Now,
from my youth that he has yet to see.
Could he watch BR2049 first and still have it make sense,
    or,
do I sit him down to watch my Metalbox Director's Cut version of BR before BR2049?

  • I would watch the original first.

I wish I'd watched it again before watching the new one. Might need a lesson on context and how futuristic it must have seemed when it was released given that it still stands up now.

Also a few of the replicant/Blade Runner roles are kind of taken as read in the new film and not spelled out, so the original is good for contextualising the new one too.

  • @mespilus, get junior to read sci fiction by Philip Kindred Dick, wrote a bunch of novels (60) from 'do androids dream of electric sheep' (blade runner) to 'total recall', dabbled with drugs immersed in paranoia fiction / science fiction / dystopian landscapes of the near future..

  • Kingsman 2 was shite
