So.. here are two photos of the steerer tube - it's carbon wrapped in aluminium just where the the bottom cartridge bearing of the headset normally fits and there is space at the base to fit a crown race. Sheldon and Park Tools confirm integrated headsets and forks do require a crown race to be fitted and this being a fairly basic model I assume it will not be the exception. Sadly the bike it was meant for got stolen so can't try it out myself.

Bought these a few months back but change of plans means I don't need them anymore. Never built up, these forks are suitable for integrated 1 1/8 headsets and come with Planet X bung.
