Sorry for the late reply. So it transpires the inner soles appear to be glued in (leather), I whipped a pair out of some size 9 trainers (27cm) and they're about 1cm shorter so the Gaernes are probably a 44.

Without being facetious they look a lot like BBs. The Miche one has been used, and if I remember correctly the others have been greased but never ridden.
