Sorry if I've missed it but whats the rear rack/saddlebag thing? Bike looks great. On the topic of trying to trim cables without bleed, pretty difficult to get right. You'll need new olives and barbs anyway (these should be supplied with the brakes if you bought new). I would just buy the bleed stuff as youll need it eventually

No worries, its this thing - https://ridepdw.com/products/bindle-rack im planning on using an Alpkit tapered drybag with it.
You're right, ill need it at some point.. Ive got olives and inserts, so i think ima take a stab at it without bleeding just for kicks.
Yea it aint easy. IMO the surly racks are a bit busy too look at. Also kinda seems like an over engineered adjustment/mounting system. The 24pack can get away with it because of its size and machoness, but its almost overkill on the 8pack, considering its more elegant size. But then again, stiffness and weight and size are pretty important boxes, which the 8pack ticks.
Thanks! @togas and @MisterMikkel :)
Heres what she got. Shes mega stoked to say the least! (there was also a pair of Fjällräven pants and a bag of Haribo Matador mix in the frame bag)
Trimming cables and dialing in fit is the next step. Then of course a good bike camping trip :D
