With the rumours of Legendary aquiring the film rights, Villeneuve to direct and the Herbert/Anderson lot behind the project. I hope something materializes.

I don't see an adaptation of just the first book happening though. I suspect all classic and new Herbert & Anderson novels to be adapted to screen.

If it's going to happen as a movie or as the new HBO/Netflix moneymaker remains to be seen.

The prequels are a lot more straightforward and would make decent films.

Would also give the opportunity to set up the concepts in advance of the Dune film so the film would be taking place in an established universe and wouldn't have to explain as much background.

so long as they don't get herbert junior involved. man can't write for toffee.

still not convinced dune even needs another shitty adaptation.
