I'm hoping it would be for those of us who are regular users of this forum, so there's someway of figuring out the switch, I'm thinking it would be on a users profile page, somewhere in the red areas in the attachment, and could be as simple as: Used to be - and then a list, also something which if anyone doesn't want the paper trail of aliases, could be switched off by the user..

I prefer the mystery of it all. Part of the fun of the forum.

I started this thread a while back, although virtually nobody is using it:
https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/282097/
I'd say keep it voluntary.

Minor one.
Android 2.3.3 (GINGERBREAD) can't connect to server, dunno if its the hardware or firmware.
Only within the past week.
Just thought I'd let you know. -
• #6506
Oooh... that is interesting.
Do you know when within the last week this started?

OK, so this is a known issue.
Non-forward-secret ciphers are currently broken in our implementation of TLS for the experiment I'm running.
The experiment is that the TLS private key for the SSL connection is stored only within the EU and yet we're able to serve SSL sessions globally using a technology called Keyless SSL.
The experiment goal is to make LFGSS one of the most secure websites on the web by not even having a copy of the private key outside of Europe.
Unfortunately there is a bug with really old browsers, and your Android has one of these.
This is being worked on, such that the non-forward-secret ciphers gets a fix and this should bring those older browsers back onboard.

Is it just me that finds the page number text box having no comma and the number after having one a little irritating?

You can type in the number and hit enter.
It's a number field.

I know that, just the slightly different number format has been seen by me, and now won't be unseen. It's probably just me.

I'll stop looking at threads that go to page 1000/1,000 and over.

Or put scoble and TS on ignore so none of them do.

New weird behaviour in Chrome: when I follow a link out of the forum or open a forum URL in a new tab, it opens the new tab but closes the original tab.
For example, from this conversation (https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/131364/?offset=6500#comment13911908), if I open a previous reply (eg https://www.lfgss.com/comments/13911895/incontext/) in a new tab, it kills the conversation tab. Original tab can be restored by CTRL+Shift+T but can't navigate back with history controls.
This isn't happening with other sites open as tabs in the same Chrome browser - just lfgss.

I noticed that too and was thinking of questioning.
However:

Is it possible to embed a google sheet document onto the forum?
The embed code given by google doesn't work

Is it possible to implement a "night theme" option, which would reverse LFGSS to having white text on a black background? Browsing at night when I can't sleep is slowly burning out my retinas.

Browsing at night when I can't sleep
It's browsing which is stopping you sleeping. Turn off your devices an hour before bedtime.

Use flux if your OS or phone doesn't have a red shift / red filter built in.

The 'time since last post' seems to have changed from 'a few seconds ago' or 'x minutes ago' to 'in a few seconds' or 'in x minutes', which doesn't sound right to me (but English is not my first language). As an extra curiosity one forum will display 'in 3 minutes', while a different subforum shows another post as '3 minutes ago'.

The clock on your computer is wrong.
The forum loads a page using server time, but then refreshes those phrases constantly using your browser time.
The browser gets the clock from your device / operating system... and so your clock is wrong.

Yeah, it just dawned on me that that might be the case. Silly me.

I use Twilight. I think my phone does have a red filter though but I was already using Twilight so, watevz
I changed my name to make myself less findable to a nutter on another forum where I used the same name.
So...not sure I'm for it
