I don't think I'll be able to make this but really want to try the route.
I might do an inverse reccy, Friday daytime. I can pick up any stragglers...

In! I'll make a ridewithgps version this morning.
I'm not sure we can join the 18:55? I thought before 19:00 it is folding bikes only. If so, there is a 19:33 from London Bridge which gets there at 20:01. Not sure about Victoria...
Either way I'll be getting there in time but joining a train at New Cross Gate

Ha, good shout that. I'll check. If that's the case I'd favour the Victoria option to get there earlier, just in case.

19.10 from Victoria.

• #7
Okay, train is now 19:10 from Victoria, arriving at Coulsdon South at 19:37 (unless you're doing the ride on a brompton). Thanks again YAL for the heads up!

The Coulsdon Experiment aka The CGG Spécial
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/25856242
@cgg I'm not trying to be a Nosy Parker, but wondered as I was drawing it if instead of going through Godstone and then doing a small stretch on the A25, we take a right onto Bulbeggers Lanes, left on Church Lane, then we only have to cross over the A25 and rejoin the route. Also where is the pub or is it train beers on the way back?
-
• #12
Ah that's a good shout, again! Will amend the route.
Pubs: there's The Pembroke close to the station, as well as some off-licenses nearby.

I have Christmas Drinks.
Out.
-
• #14
OK cool I updated the RwGPS route with the little Bulbeggers workaround and it ends at the Pembroke now
-
• #15
This is on Oyster btw. Also plans looking like I'll be catching the train from Victoria after all....
-
• #16
In case you hadn't already guessed I'm sitting this one out. Looks like a cool route tho, will be keen to hear how it goes as we could do with a few more routes outside our usual zones of operation.

Riding out, when work hopefully relents.
-
• #18
Sorry to hear it :(
Yeah I'm interested to see what the train is like. I have a fear it's going to be properly rammed.

• #19
Have fun folks. I can't make it but I rode pretty much the first half in glorious sunshine earlier in the year and it was lovely then. Should be fun in the dark and cold too.
-
• #20
Will be riding out. Good luck on the trains guys.
Have fun up in Scotland Tim!

A simple experiment in TNRC-ing, 33 miles long. Features some nice rolling and not-so-rolling hills and some flatter terrain too.
Full moon this night!
