It remains to be seen what kind of settlement is arrived at, if it comes to that. Court cases like this are still unusual in this country. £100k even seems low to me considering her condition and the serious consequences.

Pretty terrible. Also sounds like it may have, not without reason, put serious strain on her relationship.

I don't know how these things work, but I suspect £100k is the 'high' amount which will be negotiated down for a settlement (if that's what happens).

I only occasionally do loss of earnings claims with work and that sounds very low.
Was the driver ever charged with this? A quick google doesn't show anything
