Not technically a bad cyclist, but today on my commute I saw one of these fall in half while cycling along.

Calling myself out today. Was going far too fast down Oxford street today and was wondering why those vans crossing in front of me weren't stopping for their red light.
I then realised their light was green and mine was red and I screeched to a halt just after the (fortunately empty) pedestrian crossing.
I then immediately dismounted and crossed the road, walked the one street down to the turning I was going to take, as if that was what I had planned to do anyway.
No idea why I did that. I guess Ive somehow got used to the idea of watching whether pedestrians are crossing the road to establish if I can proceed or not on Oxford street, rather than traffic lights.

Assault by someone riding a bike on the footway:
Very, very bad.

Rode home from the Eurostar yesterday evening in full bikepacking mode. Was beginning of rush hour, and pretty much at every traffic light, someone on a hybrid would nearly ride into me trying and failing to squeeze ahead. Reminded me why I generally avoid the rush hour...

Police today released CCTV showing the cyclist riding with one hand on the pavement
Sounds like a real knuckle-dragger
(Awful story, hope they catch the prick).

BMX handplant mad skills?
I echo your sentiments and hope they catch the arsehole and lock him up for a good while.
-
• #13263
what a dickhead. I was nearly taken out by some muppet on the path yesterday, makes you want to just push them off when you see one
-
• #13264

Tug them off instead?

• #13266
I wonder if that is what happened? Not defending him in anyway but you didn't really see much when he went down. It explains him going postal.

Chap in a red jersey with pink rapha gilet on a blue condor with rear panier, your cycling is abysmal.

• #13268
red jersey with pink rapha gilet
as is his colour coordination by the sound of it
-
• #13269
Its you isn't it. You're bluffing.

Rapha and a Condor frame? This sort of bad cycling is beyond my budget
-
• #13271
Yeah. That's what happened I'd say.
Then smart arse ped got all gesticulatey and gangster. Pavement cyclist eventually got tired of it and bopped him.
If pavement cyclist hadn't then turned on the woman I'd only have awarded him second biggest twat in that vid.

Everyday sexism?
-
• #13273
Nope. The knocked out guy asked for a fight and got one. The woman didn't.
-
• #13274
And the other guy??

• #13275
I think he's still running.
Thanks, great info. Yes, I was wondering about Crouch Street earlier as I Streetviewed my way along it. The vacant theatre/cinema building especially hinted that it used to be an important street in the city. No chance of that now. I've just found the Better Town Centre Plan, which gives more context:

A quick search hasn't thrown up any on-line consultation documents on that specific junction, but there is this going on:
