I considered a surly but I read that they are the same width as EAI i.e. a bit too wide for the threading on the mavic hubs.
@Rik_Van_Looy interesting and good to hear that it seems to be a problem with the EAI cog rather than the threading which makes things less complicated.
Cross-post from my CP thread cause it'll get more exposure here:
I tried to thread an EAI cog (iso) onto a mavic 520 hub which is supposed to be iso compatible. First half or 2/3rds thread on smooth but then there's considerable resistance. I don't want to risk damagin the threads so i didn't force it on with the chainwhip. I tried it with a cheapo generic cog and it went on fairly smooth all the way. Anyone experienced something like that with EAI cogs? The other problem seems to be that the threaded section is a bit longer on the EAI cog than on other cogs so the lockring wouldn't be fully on. Any recommendations for other quality 19t 1/8 cogs, preferably with a slimmer threaded section? What about Halo cogs? Not exactly bling but I heard their hubs are pretty solid.
If anybody has sth in their parts bin that would tick the boxes, please let me know!
