This one needs a lot of work judging by photos but it's going to be a beater anyway. I've lusted after one of those Allez epic frames but can never see one in my size!

Imight make some new ones and give them all the mounts.

They are not my cuppa T.
I want biplane fork crown preferably -

Thorn do twin plates, but I think they're all 26"
-
• #116757
Yeah and I need shorter ac. Plus I have never made forks before so it isn't a problem to spend some time on that.

Cross-post from my CP thread cause it'll get more exposure here:
I tried to thread an EAI cog (iso) onto a mavic 520 hub which is supposed to be iso compatible. First half or 2/3rds thread on smooth but then there's considerable resistance. I don't want to risk damagin the threads so i didn't force it on with the chainwhip. I tried it with a cheapo generic cog and it went on fairly smooth all the way. Anyone experienced something like that with EAI cogs? The other problem seems to be that the threaded section is a bit longer on the EAI cog than on other cogs so the lockring wouldn't be fully on. Any recommendations for other quality 19t 1/8 cogs, preferably with a slimmer threaded section? What about Halo cogs? Not exactly bling but I heard their hubs are pretty solid.
If anybody has sth in their parts bin that would tick the boxes, please let me know! -

Was impulse buy but I think it's around the 55 , it'll get risers yes , think I'll stick down tube shifters on it or I might be able to find a trigger shifter

I think it's just the thread tolerance is tighter on EAI
My EAI worked well on Zeus and Primato but I just can't get it started on a Novatech... I assumed I'd threaded the hub but an old Villiers cog went straight on with no hassle at all. -

Very impressed with my surly cog
-
• #116763
I considered a surly but I read that they are the same width as EAI i.e. a bit too wide for the threading on the mavic hubs.
@Rik_Van_Looy interesting and good to hear that it seems to be a problem with the EAI cog rather than the threading which makes things less complicated. -

I had exactly the same issue with an EAI Gold Medal Pro and Royce hub. I managed to get the cog on but not without a lot of force.
I haven't needed to take the cog off yet but I've not had any issues in almost 4 years of riding it.

Ah yes that’s true, I used it to correct my chainline running 75s on a centaur bb.

If you want thin cogs then phil wood is what youre after
-
• #116767
I couldn't justify spending that much for a cog but if amybody has a used one, please let me know.

I have a 17t, albeit 100 miles from me. How quickly do you need it?
-
• #116770
Nice, I'm definitely interested! It's a slow project and the frame and parts are currently separated by some 200 miles so time is not a factor :)

I was putting a cassette from my parts bin on my new wheels and encountered a very bizarre but of kit. Can anyone help with identifying this, no manufacturer markings and under 200g, 9 speed. Each sprocket is constructed in two parts; sprocket with a universal spline (looks like titanium) and then a second inner steel? splined ring for the freehub (shimano in this case), same principle as the Miche track cogs that come in two parts. Furthermore, it looks like this doesn't have the normal hyperglide ramps so I'm guessing this can be assembled without worrying about the radial position of sequential sprockets. Any help please as I want to find the manual so I can put this together properly

Think i'm going to stick with the risers for now. Should have bought the Easton monkeybars, but this one was cheap.

Quick (and probably dumb) question: Are ISO and ITA threaded 1" headsets interchangeable? Bought a dia compe one, came labeled as ITA (according to Sheldon, all measurements seem to be the same, just wanna be sure)
nice find! I have a real soft spot for those early steel allez. thought i had found one of the super early 3rensho ones under a shitty ebay listing but on the arrival of better photos it was not : (
