A lot more power and no judder compared to the TRP revox, as you'd expect. As the reviews say, they feel a little spongy if you put gentle pressure on and if you grabbed hard I think they would lock a bit. We only did a short ride today without much need for brakes, so hard to draw any conclusions.

Classic drops FTW.

I was about to ask the same question as @andyp would love to hear more .. any reason you went from canti to mini V? I've heard (and had a very little experience) that cantis can be pain to maintain/set up. Also googling TRP 8.4 v 9 suggests 8.4 are for shimano and 9 are for campag and sram .. only asking because I'd be building a similar bike soon.

FYI I've got CX9 working fine with Sram, although TRP say that the 8.4 would offer better modulation.

I'm thinking of getting this resprayed. I'm a bit bored of the colour and the decals are peeling a bit, which seems like a good excuse. Current thoughts are Olive Drab or a 'Cannondale Track' Blue scheme. Inspiration:
I'm tempted by a fade of the last two colours.

Don't paint it. Buy another one?

Olive Drab always looks good with brown / tan (brooks or skin walls) and IMO works well with little red logos/highlights that bike companies use a lot of. However, it also gets a bit boring after a while, and you never find yourself actively admiring the paint job.

This ^ Geekhouse looks good in Matt Green - but just make sure you go for a similar textured matt lacquer to really kill the sheen and enhance the 'utilitarian' M*A*S*H aesthetic.

Possibly dumb question time. I'm buying a second hand Velo Orange Pass Hunter rack -sans bolts. Can I just mount it flush against the brake arms on the cantilever bosses, or are some spacers required? If so, what and how to source?
-
• #97
I would guess that you'd need a spacer of some kind to stop the arms from rubbing on the mounts of the rack.
(No experience with either mind)

So I'm getting some things done to this frameset. Adding an extra eyelet on the rear and mounts for low rider rack in the fork. Gav at August cycles us doing the work. It will necessitate a respray, so reviving this conversation. Where is good for powdercoating in London now? @hulsroy - I saw you had a frame powdered recently I think? Was it through Stayer? Was the finish good?
Looking good. How are you getting on with the CX9s?
