Years ago, during the two-week spate of deaths around this time of year (I think 2014) I decided to do something:
I took all the data available and plotted it on a map, I then made it possible for people to report incidents (inc. near misses) anywhere on the road network to their local council in order to keep the pressure on each and every council to make their council safer.
Sadly the site isn't as well used as it could be, and I have since had to move onto other things. But I still genuinely feel that the only way to change the situation is to inform individual cyclists where to be vigilant, expose how poorly the official records reflect the reality of cycling on our streets and to pile this into the face of every coucil, police force, ambulance crew and truck operator in the country.
If anyone wants to pick up the effort, or they want to promote/use the site as is let me know.
