  • So I have just got a new job and can finally afford to buy a "bike with gears". I've been trying to get my head around how the marketplace works and I'm finding it very hard to find bikes with Campagnolo components, at least without going for a $$$$$$ Super Record monster. Can the forum's collective wisdom help me out here with what the options are? I'm after a proper road racing bike, up to around £3000 but will consider various options if they seem good value. For example, my first idea was a Ribble Audax with Centaur, but it turns out that's not possible. On the other hand, if this https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/road/ultimate/2018/ultimate-cf-slx-8-0.html came with Potenza instead of Ultegra I'd be sold already.

I've seen there's the Bianchi Oltre XR3 with Potenza for £3,300, but there's something I don't quite like about the bike, and why go over budget for something that's not right.

Hope this doesn't come across as too absurd or awkward. Just hoping there's people on here who know the current road bike market better than me who can offer some suggestions.

  • Apart from Italian brands the OEM market has moved on from Campagnolo. There's no economic justification for using it so you'd have to go custom build.
