Yeah I had something very similar happen, started off really bad but managed a kill with a double barrel shotgun and then I found an assault rifle and somehow racked up a good few kills with zen like calm including a cheeky one pop head shot, next think I know the blue bitch got me, I didn’t even realise I was in it so deep.

Does the playzone get progressively more damaging as the game goes on? It seems like it - I timed my distance from it to allow a bit of damage so I could flank a player and shoot him from behind. I succeeded without losing any health but somehow I died and I wasn't keeping an eye on PZ damage. Normally you get at least 2 minutes when I've been left behind. I was dead from 100 health in about 30 secs??
