That's good to know! Which TI stem was it? I'm a bit worried since the clamp area on most TI stems seems to be a bit wider than on most TIG Steel stems.

Any recommendations for a sink tap to garden hose connector? Seems like there are two different styles.
I don’t have an outside tap so want to run a hose from the kitchen sink to the garden for cleaning bikes.

Can't really go wrong with Hozelock in my experience. The one you want depends on what type of faucet you have. Got a pic?

Is there anywhere reputable to freely buy contact lenses online? My optician requires me to go and get a check-up before selling me more, and I just don't have the time to go there at the moment.

I managed to fuck up my kitchen tap with the second type. Dented the top of the tap which then pushed the screen/filter bit out of it so now it just pisses water in any direction it wants.
May be more of an issue of a cheap tap to begin with. Considering getting a new kitchen tap and at the same time, fitting an external one for hose duty.

@J0nathan Lenssaver was the cheapest for my lenses with astigmatism correction.

Is there any way I can run a ht2-style road crankset (for 68mm bb) on a 73mm bb frame? (assuming the cranks clear the frame) or is the axle too short? (could use either shimano or fsa)

I don't think so. I asked the same Q a few months back:

how bad an idea is a 28mm tyre on a 25mm internal rim? cant quite decide if it would be instant death or insane awesomeness?

Sounds like it'll be awesome. Iirc @umop3pisdn has been experimenting with narrow tyres on wide rims

I recently bought a J&L Ceramic BSA30 BB but ended up using a RaceFace BSA30 instead; The RF cups are 10.5mm wide, same as most other external-cup BBs. The J&L cups seem to only be 8mm wide, so if you can find a J&L for 24mm spindles, you might be able to compensate for the extra 5mm of BB shell.
I wouldn't use the actual bearings the J&L BBs come with though: cheap ceramic bearings can be worse than bottom-end steel bearings in terms of ball-roundness, and the inner-race could score the spindle if the bearing stiffens or seizes. Should be a standard size and easy to replace, the bearings in mine didn't take much pushing to pop out. The inner diameter was also under-spec such that I'd need to at least freeze the spindle to get the bearing onto the right bit of the spindle.
edit:
This is the J&L BSA30 I bought: http://r.ebay.com/jjaRAc
Looks like the 24mm/GXP cups aren't slimline: http://r.ebay.com/4UnCq2 -

Thanks for the lens recommendations everyone :)

I've done 20mm tyres on 19mm external, now got 27mm nominal on 23mm internal.
It'll be great, especially if they're GP4k. Like riding a motorbike.

You've linked to a pushfit BB.

Whichever you use I would suggest that you leave the business end flowing and turn the water off at the tap. It's inconvenient but not as bad as letting go of the hose trigger to then have water pissing out at high pressure across the kitchen because you pulled the hose a smidgen and opened a gap.

Have people used car touch up pens not for scratches but to murk out their frame/brake tracks? I have some unwanted white detailing on a black frame that I'd like gone. Anyone have experience with this?

Hey, it's not my fault that I'm stupid sometimes...
I got a ti quill on some Nitto compact drops
Didn't have to open the quill up much, it was mainly just getting them in at the right angle. Bit of a pita tho
