I've decided to change my luggage strategy for bike touring this year. I'm going for something less flexible but lower on the bike with more free bar space for longer days in the saddle.
The combination below is my no expense spared, grade-A solution for anyone running mid-fork and crown mounts (most Surly plus others besides) for flexible, strong storage.
I have used them a handful of times last winter but they have both been treated with due care and attention and are in VGC.
Inside Line Equipment, Porteur, Black XPAC (Sailcloth) RRP $188 USD, £100 to you.
Purchased at great expense direct from Eric at ILE in Berkley, at the time I was unable to find one in the UK in XPAC. Def worth it in terms of weight versus hard wearing and waterproof.
Surly 24 Pack Rack, Silver RRP £140, £100 to you.
Purchased from Charlie the bike monger, complete with all fixtures and fittings, no chips, marks or scratches.
I'll split if I sell the bag. If you want both I would do £160 the pair together. Pics in the morning.
Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.
Tips:
Create headers by underlining text with ==== or ----
To *italicise* text put one asterisk each side of the word
To **bold** text put two asterisks each side of the word
Embed images by entering: ![](https://www.google.co.uk/images/srpr/logo4w.png) That's the hard one: exclamation, square brackets and then the URL to the image in brackets.
* Create lists by starting lines with asterisks
1. Create numbered lists by starting lines with a number and a dot
> Quote text by starting lines with >

For syntax highlighting, surround the code block with three backticks:
```
Just like Github, a blank line must precede a code block.
If you upload more than 5 files we will display all attachments as thumbnails.
