  • Wish I'd gone for a wider wheel/tyre than the aerotracks/28 mm paselas (which come up small) as the roads are so knackered. Got some cx rims/32 mm gatorskins on another bike and they are great - so much more comfy.

  • I had mine repainted
    it look brand spanking new!!!
I m thinking about changing stem and post to silver one. What s the hive mind opinion on this?

  • Right, I’m making the jump. I’ve been following this thread for a while now and you lot have convinced me how much richer my life will be with a pompino in it. Now I need to get my hands on-one (sorry).

Has anyone out there, got a large full build (or frame+forks) they’re looking to flog?

  • Schwalbe Road Cruisers- and Deltas rolling resistance will suck the life out of you.

  • Hey-hey :) not sure if they fit! :D

I ended up ordering 42mm Bluemels and got a nice deal for 32c Gatorskins. I was stupid enough to cut the mudguard stays before mounting new tires so they were aaaalmost too short. I was lucky enough and got the desired tight fit :)

I am now even more satisfied with how it rides, soft like a pillow.

  • ^ nice.

  • I have deore xt t780 on my surly and it's been fine for many many miles

  • Will look into that, ta!

  • Those wheels don’t look like they have brake tracks...

  • Found an old pic of my Pompetamine. I changed forks, brakes, gears, bars, stem and fully serviced it a week before it got stolen. Still bummed about losing it.

  • Mi piaceva più prima

  • Looks very good, i'll buy some 32c ultrasport for mine...

  • That's a smasher!!

  • Put on flat bars ready for a top-tube-mounted baby seat. Haven't cut the steerer in case I need to fiddle with the bar height.

  • Is that a stock yellow?

  • Nah - I got it powder-coated a couple of years ago. Not really sure what the colour is, but the place I went to didn't have a lot of choice.

  • didn't think it was - looks really good though

  • cheers! I think I was after orange at the time, but the place didn't do a lot of bikes, so he kind of scratched his head and rifled through pots of black, black and grey, before pulling out some yellow. It's kind of "double-white-line yellow". Maybe it's called "traffic yellow"? Satin finish (because that was all he had).

  • Hi, I'm after a (V4 if possible) Pompino frame in L if anyone wants to part. Many thanks.

  • And, can I ask a favour of someone with an L (V4 if possible) Pompino? Can they measure the centre of the bottom bracket to the top of the top tube where it is welded onto the seat tube. The On One website is a bit shy of dimensions.

  • Will measure mine tomorrow, but PX’s website says it’s 54cm.

  • Ignore my previous post, I’ve just measured mine and from the centre of the bottom bracket to the top of the top tube it’s measures at about 49cm.
