Or you could slap some 25c's on there ride it an enjoy it, all the time seeing your reflection in the shiny top tube.
It maybe over priced but it looks badass and will be far more fun than something 4x the price.
Oh, and old alu is fine.
Just saying. :)

meh .. CAAD12 is amazing. Its kinda like buying the first iPod for the nostalgic value.
-
• #8954
Haha it’s 10 year old aluminium and still rides better than any sub £1000 modern Alu frame. Perfect crit bike. Stiff as hell, light, fucking awesome looking

Like that Moots?

Saucy Saeco. Love the American meets Italian vibe.

They haven't changed anything from that to vamoots that they sell today and Titanium is timeless ;)

Is my wavey washer flat enough, or should I fit some 0.5mm plastic shims?
-
• #8962
looks flat enough to me. it shouldn't be fully compressed.
-
• #8963
Looks fine. Maybe too compressed if anything.

Will attempt a better photo tonight. How much space should I see between the hump of the wave and the adjacent spacer?
-
• #8965
Just a smigeon more than you have at the mo?
If it's not noisy I'd run with it. If it starts to get noisy or it feels rough I'd let a bit of the pre-load out by removing a spacer - if I could.
-
• #8966
Cannonde state that you should not be able to get a 0.5mm shim into the gap left by the wavy washers corrugation, when compressed.

Actually had a fairly modern carbon 2009 look 595 for a short period and changed back to an older Caad 7. The caad is so much stiffer! (And not to mention the same weight) I can completely understand if you've got the money then get a modern caad but there is nothing wrong at all with old aluminium.. age is just a number

Winter Training Bike!

Too nice for trashing and trainers have guards. Stop cross chaining.

Doesn't change the instructions, I submit.

the skinny fork just looks so odd though :(

Schtaaap - it's still a £2,300 road bike with Aksiums
Apart from mediocre ride quality and the fact that you can't put wider tyres; 15 year old alu .. what could go wrong?
Would get lots of Instagram likes though.
