Evans have already refunded me the cost of the bottom bracket, and will also refund for the crank once they have it back, which will be via Collect+ for free.
Chuffed, they really couldn't have helped me much more. Apart from coming to pick it up themselves, the lazy sods...

I have had "some" success. They have agreed to refund me the cost of the replacement BB and cranks, but have arranged this with the dealer I bought them from, i.e. Evans in Gatwick. A 1hr30 round trip by car (if traffic allows!).
