• Saw quirk respray on a Francis cade video... what a lovely colour what was it and more importantly how much? He did say it was a custom mixed from house of colour in America $$?

  • Yeah, you're right... that Quirk did feature a custom shaded House of Kolor product.
To be honest, that sort of stuff is firmly in the 'premium' end of materials but in the grand scheme of things isn't super expensive. A standard 'flat' colour would be £40 and a House of Kolor Kandy Basecoat like that one would be £90 by comparison. You could look at it as more than double the cost of a standard colour or you could say it's £50 more for something a bit special. If you get into the Hot Rod colours, you would in most instances only use one or two as feature colours and mix it up with some less expensive products much like Rob did on that project. It's worth adding though that Rob painted that one himself on our 'Introduction to Paint' course - https://colecoatingsworkshop.com/#/quirk-paint-course-result/

We try our very best to be transparent when explaining how we price our work because it's one of those things where people automatically assume it's expensive 'cause they can't find a clear price anywhere!

Every project is different so in turn, every price is different and you can see the numbers here - https://colecoatingsworkshop.com/costs

We're happy to work in a few different ways...

    The main ones would be:
"I've got £XXX, what can I get for it?"
"I want this, how much is it?"
"I want this and I have £XXX" and then we'll help you tweak and alter your finish to help it best match your budget without compromising your vision.

It's a very personal process in the most part.
