You need to get the lockring that uses a Shimano BB tool to install. The one that comes with rotors, which needs a cassette tool won't clear the thru axle ends. Something like: https://www.merlincycles.com/upgrade-centrelock-15-20mm-lock-ring-for-kinesis-crosslight-wheels-102368.html?

Ah ok thanks for that.
I feel slightly miss sold that the end caps require different lockrung to the standard. I know standard is a dirty word in the bike world but still.
Do I have a valid reason to feel this way?

Also asking for a flat mount flat mount adapter, feels like asking for a long weight.

Shimano's own thru-axle CL hubs come with the bigger lockring.

The QR CL hubs come with rubber covers over the CL splines in case you're using it in a rim-brake wheel.
