might I end up having to find a frame builder who's willing to experiment a bit?
Google "lugged 953" and you'll find a few builders who are already past the experimental stage. Any 753 certified builder will already be familiar with silver solder.

I guess a bit more old school frame builders will be into this. Try not to approach a builder with less than 5 years experience. Here in the Netherlands I know Blacksmith and St. Joris have experience with silver soldering stainless to carbon steel.
