Yeah that’s it, it should start to eat it’s way through.

Hi, yes it did come from you. I don't recall any warning but not to worry, it's long past any warranty period :-)
Quite good to know that it wasn't specifically my misuse that has gunked and damaged the bolts. If descaling doesn't work then I'll probably disassemble the whole thing and see what I can do. I may have to drill them out, if that is even possible. Larks!

Just had a bit of a tidy up, shower screen was a bit mucky.
Nowhere near as snazzy as @Eamesy setup but I'm enjoying learning something new. I've decided I don't like the steam knob, feels cheap and plasticy compared to the rest of the machine.
My v60 jug is in the dishwasher at the mo so not in shot. Meh.
Still need to do the grinder mod as recommended by @StevePeel but it's fine enough now I've cleaned everything out.
I'd like a little knock box as my machine is about as far from the bin as possible so ending up with coffee on the floor..

Looks great that.

I'm positive I did, but anyway. I did consider drilling but the base looked like it would get in the way. I have some "fucked screw/bolt" extractor bits you are welcome to borrow. Got them for about £6 on amazon.

If you are running low on Sumatra can we get 2kg, can pay you now but could it be roasted and sent beginning of next week?
-
• #13333
I'll see how the descale comes on but may hit you up for the extractors. Thanks.

No problema. Details in email, cheers James.

Wondering about chopping the fitting out of the steam knob and epoxying it onto something nicer. I have a nice marbled skateboard wheel somewhere that wore down pretty small which could work.

Really nice! What espresso machine is that?

Glad you found it useful!
I imagine the sudden increase in caffeine uptake can be quite the shock to the system!

Ha, probably!
I don't know what taking any form of illegal upper is like but I only slept about 2hrs last night and spending today feeling as rough as any hangover I ever had at uni....It is very very nice coffee though....

Knocked the Aeropress over this morning and spilled coffee n grounds everywhere. Then ended up with burnt toast whilst mopping up 😠

I always used the inverted method when making coffee with an Aeropress. One day I forgot to squeeze the air out before flipping it over. Air heats and expands shooting the plunger out of the chamber, and quite a lot of coffee with it.
That's a mistake you only make once.

Commonly available cold brew in bottles?
I don't want to wait for my massive machine (definitely a euphemism) to heat up every time I make espresso martinis so if I can get a cold brew coffee that will store well that would be useful...
Thoughts?

Hey @StevePeel, how do I go about ordering some of your coffee?

Sound fun!
I tried the inverted method for a while and couldn't really tell the difference between normal/invert so went normal again.
Inverted always seems precarious unless theres a lot of plunger engaged. That then leaves the cup needing a top up. -

There's one by Brew Lab that's pretty decent.

It's incredibly simple to do yourself.
- Coarse grind beans (I use a 4.5:1 ratio of coffee:water for brewing).
- Pop them in an airtight container with the water for 12 hours or so at room temperature.
- Filter the grounds.
- Put it in a bottle and chill it.
- Dilute to preference.

Hi Jake email me at coffee@yellowbourbon.co.uk and I’ll send you a description list. Decide what you want and I’ll send you a paypal invoice. As soon as that’s paid I’ll take the coffee to the post office.

Think sandows have brought out a cold brew specifically for martinis etc?

(but I might just try that given the fact I have all the kit already - cheers bud!)

Added to the list.
Didn't you get this off me? I think I remember warning about this at the time, hence the bargainous price.
