  • but you do seem to be getting your knickers in a twist about the way some have responded to you. you accused me of trolling you ferinstance. no one on here agrees 100% about anything. stick about and you'll see that. i like to think, however, that people that sign up for the express purpose of banging on about a single issue du jour get called out for being the yawnsome bores they invariably present themselves as being. have great day.

  • It has liquid magma in it.

    Haha so true

  • that people that sign up for the express purpose of banging on about a single issue

Not sure where you got that from, I've been knocking around this forum for years from when I was racing at HH, some was under a previous log on lost a while ago and even in this user name which was activated a couple of months ago I've been on the forum a few times

  • it's fucking jeez, isn't it?

  • I was literally about to post the same.

  • I like this thread more when we're all telling @greenhell about what we were wearing on our commutes.

    I'll start:

    Waterproofs.

  • @TW

Half way through posting the same thing

  • no one on here agrees 100% about anything.

    I agree 100%.

  • Mudguards eurgh...

  • 100 of them, stitched into a jacket and trouser combo.

  • I don't do McChucks.

  • no one on here agrees 100% about anything

    Yes they do!

  • However I can't really see the point of a forum with completely homogenous view points where any debate or contrary position which is reasonable and not gratuitously offensive is shouted down.

Me neither. That's why I put @greenhell on ignore long, long ago. Makes the place much more like a forum for discussion and debate rather than a venue for flinging personal abuse at anyone who has the temerity to express a different point of view. It's not a perfect or complete solution, as there are other LFGSSers who seem to treat a difference of opinion as an existential threat, but since there are no downsides it's a step in the right direction.

  • see that's the problem with putting people on ignore - you only get half the story and then you look like a bit of a plonker when you weigh in with your size fives on the back of one person's not entirely unbiased comments on any given topic, don't you @danstuff?

  • It's hotter than the sun!

  • Has anyone got any nice apple pie recipes?

    Crumble>Strudel>Pie

I thought this was the one thing this forum agreed on 100%

  • The real issue of contention - custard, ice cream or cream with that crumble?

  • Who let the crack smokers in?

Pie > Crumble > Apple Slice > Apple Turnover > Everything else > Strudel

Any fucking raisins, sultanas or any other errant fruit in my pie/crumble/etc is punishable by flying monkey death squad.

  • Not sure about that. Good Strudel > Bad Crumble. But for crumbles, strudels and pies of similar or average qualities, I can't see how anyone could disagree. Although I would of course defend their right to do so.

  • Fuck a snitch. Should have dashed a hand pump in his front wheel

  • The correct aka hippy method is described thusly:

Big bowl, full of apple-based dessert FOLLOWED BY custard or ice cream.

The only exception to this rule is if whipped cream is available then it shall gain a place on the apple-based dessert.

    No other variations permitted.
