New page fail, but fuck him still.

Oh great, another cuck here to ruin everything.
We've lost cycling now to the PC blowhards.
Is darts still safe?
-
• #14204
But Albasini's fine?
-
• #14205
I didn't even know about the Albasini incident.
It's disgusting how many incidents and accusations of racism there are considering how little diversity there is in the pro peloton.
And yet clearly, what's ruining things here is people pointing that out.
-

I made no comment on Moscon's racist incident, nor did I say anything that can be construed as supporting people who cry political correctness.
I absolutely think that what Moscon said was wrong, and fully supported his being punished for it. But I don't think he alone should be singled out, there are many other riders and staff who have expressed racist sentiments and/or pursue racist recruitment policies and I think they should all be called out for it. The professional peloton has a racism problem and I'd like to see more being done to address it.
So basically I'm in agreement with you, i just don't think we should single out Moscon alone, especially as he is a young guy who, we hope, can atone for his error.
-
• #14207
I was only singling out Moscon because he was being discussed yesterday, and I saw a possible link between the incidents being a diminished intellect. I definitely wasn't singling him out based on his trade team, if that's what you were thinking!
I think @Breso was being unfair by dragging you into it and insinuating that you were defending his Bernard Manning views, I know that you're not a wanker.

• #14208
Fuck him too!

Cassini takes the rap for Moscon's tow;

-
• #14210
what a load of bullshit, Moscon could have let go at any time.
this, from the article, is reassuring though. hopefully the new UCI chief will focus on this as much as the 'motor doping'
"Video evidence has been used more and more this season and a television judge will soon have a formal role and sit in the television production truck, ready to inform the chief judge of any form of cheating."
-
• #14211
I read ‘motor doping’ as limited to motors in frames. I guess the idea of sticky bottles and drafting behind race vehicles would fall into this category too.
-
• #14212
Is a sticky bottle cheating? Clearly in some cases, like yesterday and the Nibali incident two years ago, it is, but where do you draw the line?
I think a video judge is a good idea in theory, but I think the rules need tightening and clarifying if it's to be truly effective.
I'd also argue strongly for a public explanation of the ruling and an appeal process, otherwise you get situations like Sagan's disqualification at the Tour where it was never explained.
-
• #14213
If your team director suggests that you take the tow, and you're not the smartest athlete in the peloton, and you're really frustrated because you crashed and stuck behind a team car blockade, I can see why you might accept a tow. Still stupid and shouldn't be done of course.
-
• #14214
good call
-
• #14215
agree with you completely, but it is a start.
the line: no sticking to bottle/car for over 3 seconds, for instance. clearly measurable. and non-communication after jury decisions is unforgivable, it needs to be enforced transparently
-
• #14216
But do we know what he actually told Reza during the “accident”?
-
• #14217
Does it matter? Reza was aggrieved, and reported it. Sky accepted the accusation, suspended Moscon and sent him on an awareness training course.
-
• #14218
I've noticed the aerodynamic advantages of the camera bikes are being talked about more in this regard too. Not much the riders can do about it, but it must be frustrating for those in chasing groups.
Boardman talking about it a lot yesterday and Martin talking about in that lengthy interview posted a while back regarding his chase back on in TdF after the crash. -
• #14219
Look at Flanders. Lefevre spent lots of time yelling out of the car and Gilbert and protecting him from cross winds.
Some practices which bend the rules are permitted and others aren't. The riders and teams know which are which and the consequences of transgressing.
-
• #14220
No, you’re right, it doesn’t matter.
The fact is that it’s easy to judge and single-out someone (as you said and formulated in a way I should have done originally) for something we know only from news reports. -
• #14221
Moscon also immediately apologised to him, like Albasini. Unlike Albasini it hasn't been forgotten or forgiven and now we are calling him a racist cunt which seemed a bit over the top. My take on him is he young and dumb and I hope he learns from all of this and he is given a chance to redeem himself. First step will be probably changing teams.
-
• #14222
Let's stop all this conflict and unite behind Tejay #takingtheknee and DNFing in protest at the Trump. I think that's what he did.
-
• #14223
Thank you, this exactly express my thoughts regarding the matter. Including the “changing teams” bit.
-
• #14224
Maybe “ruining” wasn’t the right word to use, I might have over reacted a bit after reading how bad he’s labelled after something that we know little about.
Seemed to me a classic virtual lynching that happens all the time on facebook/daily mail/evening standard comments. -
• #14225
Fuck him, he’s a cunt. Albasani too. I don’t forgive racism, ever. May be easy for you to let it slide, hey go ahead, do you. Sagan is a perp too. Anyone else you’d like me to condemn.
He’s a racist cheating cunt and I’ll continue to reiterate it, regardless if it makes me a political correct social justice snowflake whatever. Fuck him as a staff, record label and as a motherfuckin' crew!
