  • But Albasini's fine?

  • I didn't even know about the Albasini incident.

It's disgusting how many incidents and accusations of racism there are considering how little diversity there is in the pro peloton.

And yet clearly, what's ruining things here is people pointing that out.

  • I made no comment on Moscon's racist incident, nor did I say anything that can be construed as supporting people who cry political correctness.

I absolutely think that what Moscon said was wrong, and fully supported his being punished for it. But I don't think he alone should be singled out, there are many other riders and staff who have expressed racist sentiments and/or pursue racist recruitment policies and I think they should all be called out for it. The professional peloton has a racism problem and I'd like to see more being done to address it.

So basically I'm in agreement with you, i just don't think we should single out Moscon alone, especially as he is a young guy who, we hope, can atone for his error.

  • Maybe “ruining” wasn’t the right word to use, I might have over reacted a bit after reading how bad he’s labelled after something that we know little about.
Seemed to me a classic virtual lynching that happens all the time on facebook/daily mail/evening standard comments.
