Lrn 2 anglais bro.
You said in your experience, ie you have done it
In that context it can't be anecdotal unless you are talking wet.
What you mean is 'its purely recollection (or speculation, in your case)Your own definition even states other peoples stories is an anecdote, not your memory of an event is an anecdote (it would be an anecdote tho, if you starting telling people about that event.)

I should probably of clarified that I was talking about the evidence that I put forward was purely anecdotal as I've not conducted any controlled tests and it is purely based upon a old colleagues supposition which I have found true myself in practice. This is probably due to confirmation bias though as through further searching I have not found any real numbers that relate to the tolerances of headtubes and/or headset cups.

How is the orange/silver lo pro thing doing?
-
• #53434
Oh sweet irony.
I think 'anecdotally' and 'from my experience' are completely interchangeable. As in they mean the same thing, a nice little story told from someone's own experience.

Building it incredibly slowly, nothing is standard and it's a bit of a nightmare.
I have wheels now though and ironically enough I'm trying to get a headset fitted. I have enough spares to build once I get that sorted.
Pics will follow soon.
-
• #53436
Yes. They are interchangeable.
Although, when asked why such a tent over upside down headsets the response was 'from my experience' ie 'what I found when I tried' soon become 'anecdotal' or 'I do it cos I was told to, dunno if its true'
Sall about that context.
Of course, Im just being a facetious prick and coulda just allowed it really. -

Yaas. Exciting. It definitely will be an interesting bike.
-
• #53438
Don't know what's it's got to do with tents but I stated what I have found In my experience working in the bike industry for multiple years.
I got called out on it and admitted that all of my proof was from me and old colleagues previous experiences and not based upon hard data or previous measured/scientific studies.
It seems your confision rises from a misunderstanding of the scientific method (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_method)
We all can learn and improve each day, sometimes the first step is to admit culpability and the fact that your experience and/or knowledge can be wrong and try to improve and expand understanding of the areas in which you have interest in.
Anyway this is a bike forum, lets have more bike less philosophical chat.

HHSBoys, does anyone make an OTP steel track bike with a tapered carbon fork, other than the new Cinelli vig?

There's the prospect of this:

I was going to wait on a new frame to see what comes of it, but it sounds like Brother might be prioritising the development of the new 853 road frame first.

I worked for tokyo fixed throughout its concept, design and production. There are 3 people in the world better qualified to comment. It's not a good bike.

Yea they're releasing this in early 2018
The road Frame is still very much just in the early days.

knowledge is power ey?
'getting a tent/tenting' (whatever I said???), is just a euph for an erection.
Yep that's exactly what I was trying to say, I'm glad everyone's on the same page now.
