otherwise, absolute blinder

Sounds interesting. Did the fat caad get its own OPI chainring?
-
• #8904
What's wrong with the seatpost? Can't afford to change anything thing yet...
Rims - the grey Hollowgram logos aren't removable but the purp ones are. Again, not changing owt yet. although I'm very curious to know if there are grey HG logos beneath the purple decals. I suspect there would be and that they just add the snazzy coloured ones to match.

Innit, can't wait to get out this weekend! Need some shoes though. Anyone got any recommendations?

Yes...
Normal MTB SpideRing: 49mm CL, 137mm spindle.
FatCAAD spindle 23mm wider, 71mm CL, so the Fat SpideRing runs about 10mm further out that normal. -

Narrow feet? Italian shoes and giro. Wide feet? Northwave, sidi mega, lake.
No point buying shoes that don't have carbon sole.

Pop spindle in freezer for short while before putting back in frame - saves having to twat it so hard and prevents lateral scratching and marking when re-installing - oBvs grease before twatting and don’t hold for too long when straightouttafreeza as it’ll stick to your tongue.

Personally quite like the purple accents on the rims. And what a purple it is
-
• #8923
I'm probably keeping it as is. I really don't want it to become an obsession over the bike itself, I need to focus on getting fitter and faster.
The colour is extra juicy and changes quite a lot according to the light. Indoors it's a dark and classy mid purple, outdoors it spangles extravagantly in a hue somewhere between bougainvillea and Fry's Turkish Delight.

Noted, ta. I'm never really sure what shape my feet are. I used to think I had a good idea, but years of thinking too much about proper leather shoes has lead me to conclude that you can't generalise. No one last is gonna fit you perfectly, unless you get lucky or have one made.
A lot of people will say shop around and try on as many pairs as you can but often you end up sat there surrounded by boxes wiggling your toes and feeling unsure, with assistant stood by and not really getting involved. There's no substitute for wearing them for six months unfortunately.

I got Sidis because I had years as a kid of seeing my dad in his Sidi motorbike boots and begging for some but my parents refused because I was still growing and they were so expensive. Also they're rad
