    What you mean is 'its purely recollection (or speculation, in your case)

    Your own definition even states other peoples stories is an anecdote, not your memory of an event is an anecdote (it would be an anecdote tho, if you starting telling people about that event.)

    I think 'anecdotally' and 'from my experience' are completely interchangeable. As in they mean the same thing, a nice little story told from someone's own experience.
