Lapierre carbon disc tubeless carbon disc etc: nice road bike, does the most miles at the moment
Cannondale Six13: backup nice road bike
Moser Leader AX: bombing around town in the middle of the night like a maniac.
Columbus Spirit framed fixed gear bike for also bombing around town late at night. The above have all been my number one bike at various points although I'll point out in earshot of my bikes that I love all of them equally (but differently) and they have all brought me a lot of joy, including the ones down here...........(not so much the beater if I'm honest)
I also have
Paletti 80's style road, poncing around town on a sunday, also bike trainer duties
Scott hardtail MTB (used to use it a lot more than I do these days)
Norco 250 jump bike, not used these days, waiting for my daughter to grow big enough for it
Mercier french gaspipe beater for town missions where I have to lock a bike up somewhere.
Seems about average for the thread. -

I'm sure that's true. If only I knew what you're trying to say.

MASH Bolt - Daily commuter, fixed road
Shand Stooshie - Nice road bike
Soma Wolverine - Winter bike, bikepacking, mild off-road
Surly Ogre - Offroad tournig, bikepackingMy Missus also had a pretty rad Dancelli bike with pink Ourys and I'm slowly building an 853 Condor that'll be a neoretro tart build... so I guess 6 in the house!

Thanks mate! Most ‘normal people’ call it madness but I feel rather at home here amongst the other bike asylum inhabitants.

I've often encountered the "Why do you need so many bikes?" (especially when I used to have many more than the handful I listed earlier in the thread) question in the past. The standard response I would use is "Why do you need so many watches/knives/pipes/handbags/laptops/cameras/enamelled figurines/antique horse brasses/etc?"

My list is fairly modest as well. Currently I ride my winter/beater/commuter Kuwahara Hi-Pacer converted into drop bars.
Also have a touring machine, Koga Miyata WorldTraveller '86, I've done quiet a few self supported trips riding that bike and I love the fit.
De Rosa on Campy is my vintage beauty I ride occasionally and otherwise leave hanging in my living room.
The last one is Grandis Overmax I'm working on, hopefully group set is gonna be on its way next week thanks to @Poetic!My girlfriend has two bikes, road Fuchs build with Columbus EL (really nice frame), and touring Koga-Miyata she rode with me on all the tours ;)

Just imagine this was a ‘How many bikes HAVE you had’ thread. Your fetish would be seriously exposed! What is it, 300+?

That works for me. Best line of defence is definitely attack and it seems everyone is vulnerable. Even my seven year old son has an enviable collection of lightsabers.

• #240
I'd settle for one at the moment.

Gazelle AB Mondial - Summer joyfulness
Gazelle AA Professional - even more summer joyfulness
Raleigh Clubman - with guards. I don't like to get it too mucky
Raleigh 4130 - with guards - A real winter hack -possible sellz
Surly steamroller - ex commute now do everything bike
Geoffrey Butler - columbus tubed summer joy fixie.A new project beckons - 1985 Bob Jackson 531 I really only like/ride
retro stuff. I've had some posh aluminium frames too but never enjoyed riding them. My bikes keep me sane - there are always small jobs to do on them. so I take my time and maintain them as best as able.
If you were a golfer you'd be buying clubs/membership etc. If a photographer you'd be purchasing cameras/lenses.
It is just a pleasant hobby which hasthe added bonus of keeping you fit. -

Just caught up with this.
They used to be (mainly) in my shed, then we moved and I spilt them between another shed, an old rented garage and a very dodgy storage unit in Charlton.
I have recently managed to get them all in a unit in Brockley which is awaiting development - when I have some time I will get a pic of them all together.
Longer term, Mrs Jangle & I have taken a lease on what is basically a builders yard in Charlton. I hope to set up a containerised workshop / store there.
I realise my collection has got way out of control, but since it's probably not depreciating, I'm happy to keep it together for now.
