Wheelset advice needed.
This is a do it all speedy commuter, longer rides and transporting stuff bike. The aksiums were to get it rolling as a cheap OTP set.
I'm after strongish for carrying loads on the front (tins of paint, shopping and general stuff stuff)
Comfort is good, so thinking wider, but frame only has clearance for 25c with the mudguards, so while I would like wide rims not sure if crazy wide is practical.
Finally, for the daily stop start riding, I like light wheels because they accelerate nicely.
I don't really know where to start, deep Vs box etc, but get the feeling I should be looking at 2 cross 32 spoke builds?decent spokes should give the comfort and some flex?
Go for 3-cross with 32 and use stainless double-butted spokes. A good quality box section alloy will be strong enough. That's what mine are and I've punished them for years commuting on horrible Surrey roads.
Edit: and sealed cartridge bearings for zero maintenance bother.
