  • Yikes. That's on my route to Bloomsbury and I hate cycling down that hill. If he'd grabbed me while in motion I'd have ended up in his wheel arch.

  • Maybe he wanted to be addressed as Mr Boardman?

  • He didn't manage to grab me but he tried hard to. Should have said also - he was stationary about 4 cars back from the lights, which were red. I filter on the right there if it's possible because I take the lane to go into the Pakenham Street cycle lane (also a shit junction). I think drivers tend to sit further to the left on Margery Street because they assume that the cycle lane is two-way.

@tracerbullet I prefer going up Lloyd Baker street on the way home to avoid that whole mess, but it's one way uphill too so not so good for heading West. Quietway 2 is crap compared to Quietway 1.

  • Whether or not the cycle track is going your way or not, you are under no obligation to use it.

  • That or maybe it wasn't actually Chris Boardman.

  • Roadsafe

They were assaulted. Make a report at the cop shop.

  • What @Skülly said.

Should have told him to mind his own business*

*and then shit on his bonnet.

On the Kona? 26" just doesn't command the respect it used to.

  • I fit a speedo today.

ffs, how do I stop it imbedding?
    or to start at 0.38??

  • I was following a postie down Portland St towards burgess park end. There are some temp traffic lights half way down which went red just as he passed through ahead of me. So I cursed my luck and slowed down for the inevitable 5 minute wait you get with those shit temp lights. Five seconds after it goes red, it jumps to green so I cruise on through feeling well smug. The postie obviously has noticed this in his rear view mirror and does a three point turn to confront me/tell me off for RLJing (rightfully so). He was a man who'd seen red so we initially start shouting at each other, until I convince him I'm telling the truth with "why would I give a shit what you thought if I had broken the law to argue with you if I had jumped the light?" Immediately he smiles/apologises and explains he sees RLJing all day and this was the 'straw that broke the camels back' so to speak so we part laughing etc. I don't think I've ever convinced a driver like that and end up laughing about it, shame taxi drivers don't back down when proven wrong...

  • "why would I give a shit what you thought if I had broken the law to argue with you if I had jumped the light?"

Ummmm, no, still nothing. Is it on the right way round?

  • I met the angriest transit van man today. I have never seen someone flip their lid so quickly! I thought he was going to hit the car in front when he tried to cut me off then come flying out of his truck at me when i cycled past.

  • Getting a bit sick of the slalom course they have set up for cycles going through Bishopsgate, that whole area is carnage at the moment.

  • "why would I give a shit what you thought, if I had jumped the light, enough to argue with you?"

  • why would I give a shit what you thought if I had broken the law to argue with you if I had jumped the light?

  • Has anyone really been far as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

  • Tough crowd.

  • That made me giggle right there!

  • To the driver of car (RKII USG) on Long Lane, heading towards Tower Bridge this morning round about 8.35/8.40am - not a great manoeuvre. Am disappoint.

  • Old fart driving behind me on CS7 at Clapham Common (where the left lane traffic turns to go across the Common), beeps me as I filter across to right lane to avoid left-turning traffic. Catch up with him at lights and ask him what's up; he says if I don't ride in the bus lane (there wasn't where I started filtering), that "one day I'll die" (which is obvious tbf). I tell him I hope it's not at his hands, and certainly not with his grand-daughter in the back like she was. Told him to read the Highway Code, not impressed. /csb
