  • Singapore is hot and humid ALL the time... #nojeans

  • 70/80% humidity year round in jeans is sweaty balls central. I'll give it a miss.

    Shorts and chinos it is.

  • Ive got a couple of pairs of selvedge to move on, I've lost loads of weight this year and they are both too big now.

First pair are Levi's Matchsticks 36w 34l, i love these but they are way to big now, really nice id and lightweight (would guess 11.5) so perfect for summer not showing much wear either, looking for £30

Second pair are Ralph Lauren/Denim Supply 36w 34l. Heavier than the Levi's and seen a lot more wear, been washed a few times really nice quality, again just way to big now, £25 for these.

I'm in Lewisham, but happy to post.

Cheers for the jeans bro. Happy to report i'm not quite fat enough for the 36 inchers but I'll get em taken in. Good fit apart from the waist. Nice and light too.

  • Never thought I'd buy a pair of non-indigo jeans but these things are sweeeet.

    Warehouse 800 in ecru.

  • Got these today

I was out in Tokyo last week and thought i'd get some new jeans so went to the momotaro shop and a couple of other places, but in the end i came to the conclusion that i can get better at home for the same or less

really nice guys and a fantastic product

  • Made in Bahrain or Turkey, so obviously cheaper to make.

  • "Made in" London, with denim from turkey. Japanese denim also available for not a great deal more - these were a better fit for me though.

But I wasn't sold on the price

  • I should have said woven, but yes, also woven in Bahrain.

  • Big up — worked with Han et al on a few bits last year. Really great folk.

He used to run factories for big retailers in Turkey, Hong Kong then when they asked him to go to Vietnam to get costs even lower he said "fuck this" and came back to his old London Factory to start BLA.

There's a real focus on making sure the denim is as sensibly sourced as possible — it's one of the worst fabrics in terms of process water usage and agricultural polution, and they're working with mills in Turkey that delivers on that.

edit: and all manufacturing (barring the hardware) is done in the London factory, even the leather patch.

  • Is that the E5? How's it around the thighs and is it tapered enough at the ankles to avoid a bootcut look?

  • Yes, E5. Id gone in looking to get a pair of the E8, but found that the waist was too generous (30 or 31, cant remember) while still being fairly snug around the hips and thighs, which is always a problem for me. The E5 in a size or two down were spot on though - and the lower leg is pretty much the same as the E8 in a couple of sizes up.

Will see what they're like after a few wears, but at the moment they seem pretty tapered rather than boot'ish

  • Yes, E5. Id gone in looking to get a pair of the E8

Quite frankly, wherever you live in Hackney is great.

  • Thanks for that, they look lovely.

Anyone on here own any Left Field selvedge chinos or any other sub 12oz selvedge chinos? @>>>>>>?

  • Nope... I've got one pair of Denime WW2 chinos left, got a new half pocket put in last year but still haven't worn them... They're not black, shame... No selvage either, just like the OGs...

  • So Massdrop are doing a Naked&Famous drop next week

    https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-naked-famous-ichiban-selvage-denim

    $99 for the 13.75 oz

    Will def order a pair

  • Ordered.

    Thanks.

  • hah I'm at work, and no clue what size to order. Gonna pray they don't sell out before I get home to measure my random selection (I have everything from 33->36inch waists)

  • I went for a size 33 that claims a 35inch waist. Huh?

    In Nudie's I wear a 33 waist, 36 leg.
Their 6'3" model is wearing a size 33 and usually wears a 32. I'm going to ignore the disparity between "size" and "waist" and just go with a 33. Worst case scenario is a touch of shrink, although they have been sanforized, and a belt. I always wear a belt anyway.

  • I went for a size 33 that claims a 35inch waist

    that's normal vanity sizing

  • Ha

  • Just picked up a pair of Naked&Famous from amazon on sale ( $90 ). Size 34 fits me, but I'm a fat 36. So I think their measurement guide is pretty up to scratch.

These are the 11oz ones though, I wanted something lighter than the 15oz I've been wearing for the summer. Very pleased with them

  • New jeans time. Last two pairs have been APC Petit New Standards. Like the fit and very pleased with their durability so not sure whether to stick or twist. Could do with something with just a touch more rise, though. Any suggestions?

  • So, who does a nice classic style denim jacket?

Something along the lines of the Universal Works trucker jacket or Edwin E Classic jacket but perhaps not quite as many $$$. Or should I bite the bullet and just get one of those?

  • I'm probably a bit late here but I went through the same conundrum. Went to Son of a Stag and ended up with some Tellason Gustave that I'm still happy with over a year later

  • Speaking of trousers. Where can I find a pair of cotton duck jeans or chinos? I'm liking these apart from the price tag
