  • Anyone else got any ideas other than the above? My shoes have started to permanently smell like Cat piss. Not sure if a cat has actually pissed in them. Any sprays that you can use?

  • If you have one, you can put them in the dishwasher (probably best without dishes).

Does all the cleaning, without ruining the inside of your washing machine.

  • Dip in a bucket of water with a bit of bleach, leave for an hour, take out rinse and leave to dry.

  • Freezer.anything synthetic that gets "that" smell (of cats in heat that take inexplicable pleasure in pissing inside things you own/ reason I hate dogs not cats) gets the freezer treatment once in a while
If it's particular bad put item in a zip lock bag so your ice cream doesn't change colour, then leave in freezer for a few days, 48 hours minimum, a week won't hurt though. Ta da, stink gone.

  • Buy some pure alcohol. Dilute with water and apply via a garden spray bottle. You can use the alcohol for loads of other handy cleaning tasks.

Such as the inevitable conclusion that life is pointless!

  • Doesn't it dissolve any glues in the shoes?

  • I just put Sidi's into the washing machine. 30c setting, in a pillow case with an old towel. They come out great. Stuff with newspaper and allow them to air dry naturally. Change the newspaper as needed, as it can get quite wet.
